Title: The Short Second Story of Bree Tanner
Author: Stephenie Meyer
The short second life of Bree Tanner is the story drawn out from the pages of the book Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. This book carries the essence of the Twilight Saga series. Stephenie Meyer has linked this story with a scene in Eclipse where Cullens had a war against the ‘newborn’ army of vampires.
Bree was one amongst those newborn vampires. She didn’t like much attention so she used to be near another vampire Fred. Fred had some powers to which everyone including their Creator was unaware of. There were twenty-two newbies, unaware of their own details. Riley was their master who was also a young vampire. All of them were headed under Victoria. The newbies never knew about her. They were told that blood and quenching their thirst was the main aim of their life. The newbies were afraid of coming out in the daylight as they were told that they would turn into ashes if they will get exposed in the sunlight.
The newbies were misguided by Victoria and Riley. They never knew the main purpose of their lives until one day when Volturi declared a fight with them as they were illegally turned into vampires. The newbies, unaware of their significance and other rules prepared for the fight under their master, blindly.
Bree met another vampire Diego. She and he became good friends and eventually fell for each other. They created their own imaginary Secret club to figure out the significance of their existence. Diego knew that Riley was lying to them as he had experimented himself out in the sunlight. He shared this secret with Bree. Bree was fascinated with the truth and they figured out that they were being kept away from many of the truths. The story ends with the meeting of Cullens, Bree and Volturi’s vampires.
The story has an interesting plot which will keep you engaged until you complete it. If you loved the Twilight Saga series, then you should definitely read this one.
