Title: The Sun Is Also A Star

Author: Nicola Yoon

Publisher: Penguin Random House

Rating: 3.9

An engaging book! The Sun Is Also A Star is a story of a boy, a girl and the Universe. A girl, Natasha who believes in science and facts and a boy, Daniel who believes in fate and believes that the Universe has a lot to offer him. Can you believe that this book of 350 pages encompasses a story of just one day?

Daniel was a Korean guy, born in America. His parents were immigrants from Korea and always tried to inculcate Korean values within their two children but Daniel and his brother cared least about it. Natasha immigrated to America when she was 8 years old. Her dad wanted to become an actor and so he saw the scope of his passion in America so the entire family shifted illegally. After few years Natasha’s family is asked to deport the country.

It’s the last day when Daniel sees Natsha, with her headphones heading to somewhere. As Daniel believes in destiny, he thought that this is what the Universe wanted to show. All the bad and good things that happened to him this morning were leading to this way only.

Natasha was a practical person who had her goals and life planned very well but Daniel never believed in such things. He loved writing poetry. When he met her he got to know that She is the One.

It’s a simple romantic story which happened in a day but you will feel their chemistry just by reading the words. The conversation between Daniel and Natasha was just too fascinating. They talked about the Dark Matter, the Universe, their fears and what not.

In the generation of cell phones when they separate without numbers, the reader will have the urge to just get inside the book and be a part of their story and make them meet each other.

The best part of this book is that history of each and every person is written in it. The story indicates that how every life is important and how everything is connected to each other and with the Universe as well.

This story will teach you what a difference a day can make!

The title of this book comes from the conversation when she asks him that why most of the poets are obsessed about stars? Why not the sun because the sun is also a star.

This story showcases the bravery and hope of immigrants. How it feels to leave the place where you have buried your memories of years and years. How it becomes difficult to decide that where is your home and where do you belong!

The author has won the hearts of millions by her last book Everything, Everything (Book Review) and so does by writing these wonderful books for her readers. The writing style is very engaging and some of the lines will make you blush just by reading.
