Title: The Brown Briefcase
Author: Sandeep Jatwa
Publisher: Litchee Publication
Rating: 2.9/5
The Brown Briefcase is a short story which seems to be suspensive at first but in the end, it turns out to be a sentimental story. It is a story of a couple and a mother. They all lived together.
Chirag and Nitya loved each other a lot. Both of them wanted to have a child but they couldn’t due to some health problems. Nitya always doubted her mother-in-law for her infertility. She was suspicious that her mother-in-law has something in her brown briefcase. Her mother-in-law never opened that suitcase in front of her son and daughter-in-law.
One day Nitya got the chance to open her suitcase. She was scared to see what is inside but still wanted to know. When she opened it, she found that the reasons were totally different.
The story is not engaging. The diary writing could have been more realistic because every person expresses oneself entirely in their diary. While reading, the reader has a much higher expectation but it doesn’t fulfil it. It’s a half hour read.
